                              "As fast as lightening"


This photograph would be put on in frame with gloss paper, the size would be 72x120cm (landscape) with a 2cm silver frame surrounding, this is because I want the photograph to have a shine effect which would come with the gloss paper. The frame would cost £68.42. Also the silver frame would highlight the image because of the black background and would work well with the orange trail, and would make it stand out to an audience. I have used a larger size as I feel the image would look better with the bigger frame. This image denotes the model running with a trail behind him. This is able to connote super speed because the trail makes him look like he is running faster than the speed of light. This fits in with what I wanted to achieve because my identity theme was super heroes and this image connotes super speed which is a super power. I also achieved my statement when I said anyone can be a superhero and these ordinary models proved that.

                      "The world in the palm of your hands"

Also the silver frame would highlight the image because of the black background and would match the ball of lights connotations of brightness. The frame would cost £68.42. I have used a larger size as I feel the image would look better with the bigger frame. The photograph denotes a model with a ball of light in her hands. This is able to connote sorcery because it looks as it she has created and is controlling the ball of light. This fits in with my theme of identity because my theme was superheroes, and sorcery is a superhero power. I also achieved my statement when I said anyone can be a superhero and these ordinary models proved that.

               
                          "A travel through time"

This photograph would be put on in frame with gloss paper, the size would be 72x120cm (landscape) with a 2cm silver frame surrounding, this is because I want the photograph to have a shine effect which would come with the gloss paper, and I also feel it would work well with the blurred motion and add to the variation of colours. Also the silver frame would highlight the image because of the black background. The frame would cost £68.42. This image denotes the model jumping in the air with a trail in front of him. This is able to connote travelling through time because the trail makes him look like he's moving into the past. This fits in with my theme of identity because my theme was superheroes, and time travel is a superhero power. I also achieved my statement when I said anyone can be a superhero and these ordinary models proved that.

                        "The light in the darkness"

LO4-Evidence of Editing

Here I am using the quick selection tool to remove the background around the model. This is so the curtain can't be seen within the image, so behind her the background would be black which would make the photograph looks more professional. A ball of light will also be added to the image to connote sorcery, and the black background would help the ball of light stand out.

Here I am using the eraser tool with a low hardness to help gain a faded glow effect on the ball.
This would help to connote sorcery, the glow would make the image look more professional and the sorcery more believable by the glow effect covering her hands.

Here I am using the magic wand tool to remove the background away from the book. By removing the background it will make the photo look more professional. By doing this it will just leave the book on its own, this will eventually be added to a photo of the model with her hands in the air to connote that she has power over the book and is holding it in the air.

LO3- Practice Pictures

These are a few tester shots for my project. Next time I will make sure that all my photos are in focus and the models are properly dressed and not in uniform.

A strength for these photos is that they fit in with my theme of identity which is superheroes as they connote sorcery and super speed. Another strength is that the pictures are in focus and look high quality. An improvement for these photos is the editing on the lights, as it looks unprofessional and would need some editing around it so there was no more black around the light. Another improvement is that the photographs don't look professional enough as the models are in uniform and the editing doesn't look professional enough, so when it comes to my actual images I will make these improvements.

LO3-Adobe Bridge

This photograph denotes super speed, this fits in with my theme of identity as my theme is superheroes. It is usable because the trail looks good and the image is clear. The photograph denotes mid shot and is also a landscape orientation. The foreground denotes the model for the photograph who has super speed. The background denotes the studio room, however this will be edited out after. This photograph also denotes deep depth of field as everything is in focus. For framing I am using the trail as a lead to the subject, also by using the black background it is able to highlight the light. This is able to connote movement of the model. The photograph is balanced because of where the model is positioned in the frame, there is also leading lines in the photo, and they also highlight his face. The strengths of this photograph is the trail as it is bright and it is easy to make out that the model is running/moving. Another strength for the photo is the position of the model as it leaves a lot of room to add more of a trail. An improvement for this photo is to change the background, as it could effect some of the trail and will be hard to get rid of. For this photograph I have used a 1.6 second shutter speed, this is able to create the trail effect. This creates the super speed effect. Because of the slow shutter speed I have had to use an average sized aperture, to make sure there was enough light exposure on the photo. The ISO had to be high due to the dark environment. All these settings work well together. For editing I will remove the background for this photo and make it completely black. I will also add more of trail effect to it so it fills more of the photo.

This photograph denotes super strength, this fits in with my theme of identity as my theme is superheroes. This photograph is usable because the model is in focus and everything is clear, also the model stands out in the image. This photograph denotes a mid/wide shot photograph which is also a landscape orientation. The foreground denotes the model with her finger in the air and the background is just the black curtain. This connotes that all the focus is on her and she is important. This photograph denotes deep depth of field as everything is in focus. The curtain creates the frame for the photograph and the model is placed in the centre of the photograph so that she is the main focus. This shows that the photograph is balanced because she is on the focal points. a strength for this photograph is that the colours stand out against the black background and another strength is that the photo is very clear. An improvement that needs to be made is the clothing choice, as her jeans are black it is very difficult to see her legs. For this photograph I used a fast shutter speed which was 1/200th of a second. This was because I wanted to capture a still image, and the model wasn't moving. Because of the fast shutter speed I used a large aperture, also as we used lights and flash for this photograph there was a lot of light exposure. Because there was a lot of light exposure I used a high ISO. For editing I will keep the black background, however I will add a table onto her finger to connote super strength.

This photograph is usable because the model is in focus and everything is clear, also the model stands out in the image. This image is mid/wide shot and is also a landscape orientation. This photograph denotes deep depth of field as everything is in focus. The curtain creates the frame for the photograph as the model is within the curtain. An improvement could be the placing of the model, so that she could have been turned slightly so we could see the inside of her hands. For this photograph I used a fast shutter speed which was 1/160th of a second. This was because I wanted to capture a still image, and the model wasn't moving. Because of the fast shutter speed I used a large aperture, also as we used lights and flash for this photograph there was a lot of light exposure. Because there was a lot of light exposure I used a high ISO. This effected the photo as it made sure everything was in focus and clear. This effected the photo as it made sure everything was in focus and clear. For this photograph I will add a ball of light into the models hands to connote sorcery. I will also get rid of the edging of the curtain to create a completely black background.

All these settings work well together. For editing I will remove the background for this photo and make it completely black. I will add this to the other photograph of the model running to create a super speed effect.

Because there wasn't a lot of natural light exposure the ISO is lower. This effected the photo as it made sure everything was in focus and clear. I will also get rid of the edging of the curtain to create a completely black background.

Because of the high light exposure I used a high ISO. This effected the image because everything is bright and is not blurry. For editing I will remove the background and just keep the table, I will add this to the image of the model with her finger in the air to connote super strength.

We were asked to create a questionnaire to support our media pitch because it showed what other people thought about it, their opinions and what we could do to improve, so that we could make our ideas stronger.

- Contrasts in location for my photos
- Expand the diversity for your images
- Make sure that you can get permissions because if not you can't take your photos


Next step:

- I will use different locations for my images, such as streets with graffiti for ballet to show juxtaposition.
- I will get permission from the models that I know so that I can take photos of them.
- I will try to expand my target audience and include males and different ethnicities to gain a larger audience.
