Duncan Philpott came into UTC on the 4th of March to talk about his career as a photographer and key aspects to his job.
10 Facts about the presentation:
1. Perks of photography: free stuff, being outside, doing something you love and travelling.
2. Downs of photography is that you can get hurt.
3. No fixed income.
4. Social media is a good way of promoting.
5. Be thorough and take loads of shots.
6. Tell a story through the shot.
7. Take photos as you go along (no total plan of what to do).
8. Make sure photos fit the brief (tick all the boxes).
9. Nike uses Instagram for their brand to help them sell their products and hire people to take photo for their profile.
10. Personal projects (make sure you're good at what you do and have a passion for it).
